(Port-of-Spain) – Today a Global Compact Local Network was officially launched by the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers’ Association (TTMA).
During the launch event TTMA presented findings from their Multilateral Investment Fund project– Improving Labour Productivity through internal Corporate Social Responsibility. The project aims to improve productivity at three member companies Barana Seafood Processors Limited, Lake Asphalt of T&T (1978) Ltd, and Trinidad Cement Limited, the results of the study will be used to inform a new resource for Global Compact Local Networks. The Trinidad and Tobago Network will use the achievements highlighted in the study to provide a local context and business case for corporate social responsibility (CSR).
The Trinidad and Tobago Local Network will be a platform for dialogue and will adjust global tools and best practices to fit the local context, making CSR more aligned with regional priorities and facilitating implementation.
