(Dubai) – The fourth (2011) cycle of the Arabia CSR Awards (ACSRA) was launched with a press conference in Dubai on Sunday.
Hosted by the Arabia CSR Network and supported by the UN Global Compact since their inception, the Awards aim to recognize and highlight best practices in corporate responsibility in the Arab region. Participation in the ACSRA’s seven categories is open to companies, public sector and civil society organizations from across the Arab region.
Global Compact Board Member Habiba Al Marashi, President of the Arabia CSR Network, outlined the history and evolution of the Awards since 2008, stressing that the 2010 cycle saw more than 80 applications from organizations representing 12 Arab countries.
The launch event marked the opening of the submission period for the ACSRA, which runs from 24 April until 30 August 2011. Entries will be judged by an international jury of experts. The Award winners will be announced and honored at a ceremony in Dubai, to be held on 31 October 2011.
